Welcome 2026! Started the year of with some good photography. Was heading 50kms to visit a friend and rather than taking the main highway, I took all the cross-country backroads. There was almost nobody along the roads, but the winter landscapes were breathtaking. We had a few days of high humidity, low clouds, and southeast winds. These conditions often produce hoar frost. Creating a winter wonderland! The beautiful landscape didn’t last long as the next day, warm temperatures and wind blew the snow off the trees.

I had given myself extra time to drive the distance and stop for photography, but the time went by too quickly. Here are my favourites.

93mm | 1000s | f/8 | ISO 100

116mm | 1000s | f/8 | ISO 100

196mm | 1000s | f/5.6 | ISO 100

137mm | 1600s | f/5 | ISO 100
